Shared apartments

A shared apartment is shared between two or three tenants, with a shared kitchen and bathroom with shower. Some apartments have a private bedroom for each tenant, and others have a bed for each tenant in a shared bedroom.

Private bedroom

Shared apartments with private bedrooms - sometimes called room in a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment - offer each tenant a private bedroom with a lockable door. LU Accommodation aims to match the gender identity of all tenants in shared apartments unless otherwise requested.

Shared bedroom

Shared apartments with a shared bedroom - sometimes called twin rooms or one bedroom apartment (shared) - are best suited to couples or tenants who already know each other well, and will therefore primarily be allocated to tenants who have requested to share an apartment as roommates (see below).

Requesting a roommate

Tenants who wish to share an apartment together must request to do so by filling out the preferred roommate field in their online housing account. Only requests where both tenants have requested each other will be considered.
