Extend your housing contract
If you have studies that extend beyond the end of your current housing contract, you can send in a request for an extension through your housing account.
How does it work?
You can extend only for full semesters, and only for as long as you have studies at Lund University. You can normally extend until the projected end of your studies.
- To make an extension request, please log in to your housing account and make a support ticket under the tab "Contract request". Specify your new desired end date (this must always be the last date of any given month).
- Extension requests must be submitted before the deadline.
- Extensions can be cancelled following our normal contract cancellation rules, giving at least two full calendar months' notice.
Please note that due to overlapping departures and arrivals for autumn and spring semester students in January, we are unable to grant extensions of only one month (January) to students who only attend studies during the Autumn semester.
Who can extend?
Any student who has studies at Lund Univeristy for the upcoming semester (or longer) can extend their contract for the full period of their studies. When LU Accommodation receives an extension request, we will verify the study records of the tenant in order to approve or deny the request.

LU Accommodation will email the exact date to all tenants whose contracts end on 30 June or 31 December.
