Apply for student accommodation
LU Accommodation has two application periods per year; Spring and Autumn. Read more to learn when and how to apply.
Who can apply?
LU Accommodation provides accommodation to International students at Lund University. This includes both exchange students, tuition paying programme students and students arriving through other agreements or projects.
When can you apply?
LU Accommodation's application periods follow the cycle of admissions for exchange and master students each year. You can apply sometime during May and November each year. The period is open for about three weeks, which is followed by an allocation process that can vary in length.
Applying outside the application periods
In order to apply outside of the application periods, you need to contact LU Accommodation via e-mail. Applications are usually handled through a standby list or similar system, but it depends on the specific time of year.
If you miss the application period, you need to contact LU Accommodation via e-mail. Depending on the time of year you may still be considered in the allocation process, but you will always have lower priority than applicants who applied during the application period.
How do you apply?
Logging in the first time will vary between program students and exchange students.
The programs students should have received their STiL account and can use that to log in and an account will be created.
The exchange students will have to create an account using their solemove ID number and the email registered with solemove. You can do that from this page: https://housingaccount.luaccommodation.lu.se/#/solemove
Any other account creations that are not covered by "Program students" or "Exchange students" will most likely have to be manually created by LU Accommodation. Please inform is via email if you have not received information about logging in. Make sure you have received confirmation that your account has been created before the application period starts.
When the queue opens, you will have to press the "Join queue" button. How the application will look after that, with what we call "Allocation batches" can be found in the FAQ Application Tutorial.
