Waste separation guidelines GR

Sweden is the world leader when it comes to recycling waste and this is due to strict laws that require the waste to be separated correctly. You can read about how the recycling works on this page.

Lund City sorting guide

The city of Lund is forward-looking in its environmental thinking and therefore all housing areas have recycling buildings where information can be found specifying what kind of waste separation needs to be carried out by the tenant in order to minimize negative effects on the environment.

All tenants are obliged to sort their waste according to the guidelines and to put their waste inside the bins provided.

Learning zero waste

To learn even more about how recycling in Sweden works we recommend the following website:

Responsibilities

The tenant is responsible for the waste until the waste has been successfully placed in the correct recycling bin. If you fail to waste-separate according to the waste separation guidelines at your recycling house, LU Accommodation will be forced to go through your waste in order to identify you.

The fee for leaving your waste outside of the recycling bin or in the wrong recycling bin is SEK 350 as long as the caretaker can complete the waste separation correctly. If the waste is too big or not possible to waste-separate then the fee will be raised to SEK 500. This fee will be paid at the same point as your next rental payment.
