Collecting your keys

Below you will find information regarding preparing for your arrival, collecting your keys, filling out the inspection report and other responsibilities.

Collecting your keys

When you have signed your contract and paid your first rent, you will be able to collect the keys to your apartment at our reception in Lund the earliest on the first workday of the month when the contract begins.

Find information of how to get to our office in the link below:

Bring an ID card

Make sure to have your passport or a valid ID card with you to collect your keys.

What you will receive

You will receive a folder with the following content:

  • Keys to the room/apartment
  • Key receipt
  • Housing area information
  • Name sticker

Outside of visiting hours

If the contract starts during a weekend or a public holiday, the apartment will be available the first working day of the month.

If you want to collect the keys outside of office hours after the first weekday once the contract has started you can apply to pick up the keys from our key collection boxes. For more information regarding the key collection boxes, please follow the link below.

Can someone else collect the keys?

We only allow an employee at Lund University collect the keys for you. They need to be able to show a LU staff member card. If the keys will be picked up by someone else but the tenant, this has to be clearly communicated and agreed to by LU Accommodation. We will need the full name of the person obtaining the contracts and keys, and one signed copy of the contract has to be returned to our office within one week.

Inspection report

Once you have collected your key, you can make a move-in inspection. This is for you to clarify if there is something missing or broken when you arrive.

If something is broken or missing, and you want it replaced, you need to make fault reports on these object individually, so our caretakers can take over the case.

If the room is dirty when you first arrive at the accommodation, this most likely means our cleaning company has missed or misunderstood something, so please contact us over email and send pictures and we will handle the case from there.
