Cleaning Charges

Upon arrival, you will pay a one-time cleaning charge. The amount will depend on the accommodation type and will cover a basic move-out cleaning, including vacuuming, mopping and wiping of surfaces. The cleaning charge is added to the first rent.

N.B.: If your contract started before March 2026, you have to carry out the move-out cleaning yourself. Please see below for further instructions. 

Clean by yourself

A moving out cleaning is not a normal cleaning. LU Accommodation has high expectations on the cleanliness in the accommodation after your departure and a final cleaning takes a lot of time. 

If the inspection shows that you have not met the standards required you will be liable to pay for any additional cleaning or for the cost of disposing of items. You will be informed via e-mail if the cleaning was not approved at the final inspection.

Please note that it is the inspector from LU Accommodation who decides whether an apartment or room has been cleaned properly.

Cleaning prices

You are obliged to inform us, before you leave, if you suspect an infestation of vermin in the room. You will not be charged for any sanitation. This will allow us to address the problem before the next tenant moves in.

You are responsible to clean your accommodation before leaving. Please see our cleaning guidelines and our cleaning videos for more information regarding how to do this.

Clean the common areas

If you live in an accommodation with shared areas such as kitchen and living room. You are responsible to do your part in these areas as well.

• Empty and clean your cupboard in the kitchen, space in the refrigerator and freezer.
