LU Accommodation Housing Lottery

The online registration for the Lottery is closed.

If you have not registered before 09.00 on Monday 8th January 2024 you will unfortunately not qualify to participate in the lottery.

If you have registered but cannot visit us at the venue IKDC during the Arrival Day you will unfortunately not qualify to participate in the lottery.  An applicant cannot nominate a proxy to participate in the lottery or register for the Post-Arrival Day waiting list on their behalf.

 

Lottery Information

We have sent out offers for all of our available housing during the autumn, but our experience tells us that there will be a limited amount of accommodation available at for the Arrival Days through cancellations. Any such available accommodation will be offered to applicants as follows: 

  • Applicants remaining on our waiting list are able to sign up for the lottery via our website between 09:00 on the 2nd January 2024 and 09.00 on the 8th January 2024.
     
  • Those that have applied will then need to confirm their registration by verifying that they are in Lund before 16:00 on Tuesday the 9th January 2024. Applicants need to visit LU Accommodation at the Arrival Day venue (IKDC) between 09:00 and 16:00 Tuesday 9th.

 

  • If it is not possible for the housing applicant to visit us at the Arrival Day venue during the Arrival Day then they will unfortunately not qualify to participate in the lottery. An applicant cannot nominate a proxy to participate in the lottery on their behalf.
     
  • All participants in the lottery will be contacted via email on the 9th January 2024 with information regarding the results of the lottery. 
    • Successful participants in the lottery will be offered accommodation with a start date of the 9th January 2024. They will have until 23:59 on 9th January to respond to the offer.
    • Unsuccessful applicants will be automatically placed on our Post-arrival day waiting list, in the order created by the lottery.
       
  • Anyone unable to attend the lottery in person can register for the Post-arrival day waiting list by visiting us in person, either during the Arrival Day 9th January after 16:00, or later during our visiting hours at our office. The Post-Arrival Day waiting list will be used for any accommodation that remains or becomes available after the lottery. These will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
     
  • Any applicants who: (1) fail to register online, or (2) fail to confirm their registration in person (including by arriving later than 16:00 on 9th January), will be put on the Post-arrival day waiting list, after any remaining participants in the lottery, on a first come, first served basis.

We cannot give any estimation of the amount of available accommodation before the start of the lottery. Housing preferences which you made on application will be taken into consideration, but will not limit your eligibility.

 

NB. You will need to be registered for studies (a minimum of 30 credits) at Lund University during the Spring 2024 semester, in order to participate in this lottery.
