Sign the contract

Please make sure you sign your housing contract before your offer expires. It is not enough to just accept the housing offer - the contract needs to be signed as well. If you don't sign the contract before the deadline, you will lose your offer. The contract is signed online via a service called Scrive. Also make sure you can receive e-mails from us, so that you don't miss any important information that we send out ahead of your arrival.

Pay the first invoice

All rents (including the first rent) are expected to be paid in advance, on or before the last day of each month. The first invoice also includes a non-refundable one-time cleaning charge, as well as a SEK 5000 deposit for student tenants. The deposit will be refunded at the end of the stay, minus any damages or charges.

If an invoice is not paid on time, LU Accommodation will forward the invoice to Kammarkollegiet (a national Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency) for debt collection within two weeks.

Collect the keys

The earliest you can collect your keys is the first working day of the month that the contract starts. Keys can be picked up at our reception during visiting hours.

To pick up keys, tenants need to bring a photographic ID (passport or National ID-card). Key pickup is normally done at our reception, but during Arrival Days, keys can only be picked up at the Arrival Day venue.

Fill out the Arrival Inspection

When you have collected your key and arrived at your accommodation, please log in to your housing account and finish the arrival inspection report.

Responsibilities

As a tenant, you are required to follow all instructions and fulfill your responsibilities following the terms and conditions of the contract.

Additionally, as a tenant, you are responsible for costs related to damages and surcharges incurred during your stay. Please make sure that your insurance covers third-party liability, and read more about how you are covered below.
