Application Periods

The application is open for all eligible international students during May (for autumn semester) and November (for spring semester) each year.

When to join the housing queue

Spring Semester 2027 application

The application period for Spring Semester 2027 will open during November 2026. Exact dates will be updated shortly.

Autumn Semester 2026 application

The application period for Autumn Semester 2026 opened Monday 27 April 2026 and closed Tuesday 12 May 2026.

Late applications for housing will continue until September.

Joining the queue

It is important that you join our queue during the application periods. If you join the queue on the first day (00:00 to 23:59 Swedish time) your application will take part in the First 24h Lottery. You should make an effort to join the queue on the first day to maximize your chance of getting housing with us.

About the First 24h Lottery

If you join the queue after the application period closes, you will miss out on the first batch of housing (see below), and lose any priority or guarantee status you may have had.

When to apply for available housing

Once you have joined the queue, you can apply for batches of available housing. In any given batch, all of the currently available housing for a specific month is published.

Applying for batches

To apply for the housing, you need to click the batch, and then select which of the available options you are interested in. You need to drag the housing options you want to the right, and order them in your preferred order (most desirable at the top).

If you do not select any preferences, we will not be able to make you an offer for housing. If you have a housing guarantee, we are obliged to make you an offer, and will offer you something at random if you have not provided any or enough preferences.

Batch publication dates

The main batches of available housing is published at the same time as the application period for each semester. Once offers have been sent out from the first batch, new batches are published as cancellations and rejections are received. New batches are usually published every 2-4 weeks.
