Terms and conditions of contract extensions

Student Group 1: summer 2023 extension only

If you are a student completing your studies at Lund University this semester (June 2023) or a student that does not fulfil the Terms and conditions of the Housing Guarantee but would like to be able to stay for a short period, we can extend your housing contract.

You are now able to request an extension of your housing contract to either the 30th June 2023 or 15th July 2023.

This is done by filling out the electronic form found on our website during the contract extension application period (now open)

This means that the maximum extension period for Student Group 1 is until 15th July 2023.

Please note that you will be required to pay for the extension period and that you will follow the same payment plan as you did during the spring 2023 academic semester.

Student Group 2: summer 2023 and academic year 2023/2024 extension

If you are a student with a housing guarantee, planning to continue your studies at Lund University, you can extend your housing contract to include the whole or part of the Academic Year 2023/2024. It is important to note that this extension must include the summer of 2023 and the rental costs that this will require.

You will need to contact LU Accommodation by email luacc [at] service [dot] lu [dot] se between 10.00 on Friday 31st March and 10.00 on Monday 24th April in order to apply for an extension to your housing contract.

This method of extending should be used instead of applying for an extension via the LU Accommodation website!

Terms and conditions applying to all tenants:

• If you are uncertain as to whether you need to stay in Lund past the 15th June 2023 then please contact luacc [at] service [dot] lu [dot] se before the deadline (10.00 on Monday 24th April 2023). We need to know if you potentially may need an extension. If you contact us after that deadline an extension of the contract is no longer possible.
• Extensions can be cancelled but only as long as you contact luacc [at] service [dot] lu [dot] se before the deadline (10.00 on Monday 24th April 2023). If you contact us at a later date a cancellation of the extension is possible according to the usual cancellation policy which is outlined on our website.
• LU Accommodation does not offer the possibility to move to an alternative room/apartment.
