FAQ Arrive in Lund

What is required from me when I arrive to Lund?

The following 4 steps must be completed before picking up the keys:

  • Accept the contract
  • Pay the deposit (SEK 2000)
  • Pay the first rent
  • Complete the induction

Keys will only be handed out to you in person. You will be asked to show your passport and your Letter of Acceptance or Notification of selection results.

If you are planning to arrive on Arrival Day we refer to information that will be sent to you before your arrival. You can also read about Arrival Day on the webpage of Lund University.

If you are planning to arrive to Lund after Arrival day you have to make sure that you arrive during our visiting hours.

I will arrive after the start date of my contract. What should I do?

You are welcome to arrive after the start date of your contract but please make sure that our reception is open so that you can collect your keys when you arrive.

Please note that you are liable for rent from the start date of your contract even if you arrive later.

I will arrive before the start date of my contract. Is that possible?

You will unfortunately not be able to move into your room before the start date of your contract. If you arrive early you will have to arrange temporary housing for that period.

What do I need to do once I have moved into my room?

1. Complete the inventory report

The inventory can be found on your housing account. Please inspect the standard and the cleanliness of your room when you move in and fill out the inventory report to LU Accommodation within three days. The report is for our documentation, which is important when you move out. Any costs for cleaning or unreported damage caused to furniture and the room itself will be drawn from the deposit.

2. Is anything missing or broken - make a fault report

If you find anything that is broken in your apartment, make a fault report.

3. Make sure your name is on the letterbox

If your name is not stated on the letterbox, your mail may not be delivered, even though the adress is correct. A name tag will be given together with your keys. Please find your letterbox and place the name tag on it.
