LU Accommodation wish you all a safe and happy holiday period. The reception is closed between 21 December and 1 January, and here's what you need to know.

This article will cover some frequently asked questions about this time of the year, including:

Survey results

We would like to thank all tenants who replied to the survey sent out this autumn. We are grateful for all of your opinions, and look forward to improving our service with the results as a guide!

The winner for one month's free rent was a tenant at Eddan housing area! The winner was randomly chosen by Origo Group, and has been informed via e-mail.

Reception closed

The reception is closed between 21 December and 1 January. Our telephone times are also closed during this period, and e-mail replies will be delayed.

In case of life-threatening emergencies, please call the emergency services at 112.

In case of other emergencies that cannot wait until 2 January, please call our security service at +46 46 222 08 00.

Returning keys

If you are moving out in December, keys must be returned no later than 12 (noon) on 31 December 2024 (no exceptions).

The keys should be returned through the key chute at our old reception location at Tunavägen 20:

Please remember:

  • We cannot offer room assessments at this time
  • Clean your room thoroughly
  • DO NOT leave any belongings behind (you may be charged for the collection)
  • Lock the door
  • The responsibility for cleaning of any shared area is shared between the tenants if both move out within a month.

Collecting keys

All tenants who have signed a digital contract can collect their keys, even if the first rent and/or deposit is not paid. Please note that LU Accommodation does not provide a luggage storage service.

Tenants whose contract begins on 1 January can collect their keys when our reception opens again on 2 January, 13:00-15:00.

Tenants whose contract begins on 13 January can collect their keys starting on Arrival Day 13 January.

Any tenants who wish to collect keys outside of our reception hours can request to do so by filling in the below form (please note, keys can never be collected before the contract start date):

Housing applications

The next batch of available accommodation will be published in early January 2025 (for researchers and students alike).

Offers will still be sent out to students in the ongoing batch. Please note that deadlines are final, non-negotiable and that you need to also sign the digital contract sent to you from our provider Scrive. If you do not sign the contract, the reservation is not secured. Once you have signed the contract, the reservation is secure, whether you pay the first payment/deposit or not.

If you have not received an offer, it is either because there were too many applicants ahead of you in the queue, or because there was not enough available accommodation among your chosen housing preferences. Either case, we urge you to please keep looking for housing through other channels as well.

Payments and deposits

January invoices

If you have not received your January invoice in your online housing account, do not worry. It will be published in early January. You are welcome to collect your keys and move in even if the first rent payment has not been completed.

Deposit refund

The deposit refund normally takes 4-8 weeks after the contract end date. We haven’t yet started the deposit refund process for the tenants whose contract ended on 31 October 2024 and 30 November 2024. You will see the details in your online housing account once we refunded it.

If you have received a deposit refund with deductions for costs, please go to your online housing account to read the full report of the inspection that was made after your departure.

Payment issues

Please contact your bank to ensure there is no problem form your bank side, or any payment limit. You can also try to clean your cache memory or use another browser/device, which sometimes helps. If nothing works, please contact us again on 2 January 2025.

Contract Cancellation

If you are a current tenant and wish to cancel your contract, you may send in a request via your online housing account as normal. Any request received before the end of December will have the earliest possible move-out date as 28 February 2025.

Any request received in January, will have the earliest possible move-out date of 31 March 2025.

NB. If your contract has not started yet, you may cancel your contract completely, without any extra charge, as long as you make the request before the start of the contract.

God jul och gott nytt år!
