August application periods
The first application with contract that starts on 1 August will open on the 27 April 2026 and will close 12 May 2026. Once the application period has closed, we will start the allocation process and send out offers. As parts of this process are manual, the process may take a couple of workdays before the offers are sent out.
Once we have offered housing to all students that have applied with a housing guarantee we will send out offers to the students with priority. Please note that if you do not have a housing guarantee, you cannot rely solely on LU Accommodation for housing, you should also start looking for housing outside of LU Accommodation as soon as possible.
Joining the queue
It is important that you join our queue during the application periods. If you join the queue on the first day (00:00 to 23:59 Swedish time) your application will take part in the First 24h Lottery of all applications received in that period, which will decide your final queue time. You should make an effort to join the queue on the first day to maximize your chance of getting housing with us.
If you join the queue after the application period closes, you will miss out on the first batch of housing (see below) and lose any priority or guarantee status you may have had.
